We started with one badly-made dress
Pumpkin Row began because a two-year-old’s party dress fell apart in a single wash. The seams gave, the dye ran onto her skin, and the label promised none of that would happen. We decided we could do better, and that other parents deserved better too.
What we make
Everything is cut and sewn in small batches at a women-led unit of forty in Maharashtra. Small batches mean we can check every piece, and it means we do not sit on a warehouse of unsold stock that eventually gets burned.
What goes into it
Cotton, mostly. Pre-washed so it does not shrink on you, and dyed with azo-free dyes because children put clothing in their mouths. Where we use a blend, we say so on the product page.
What we will not do
We will not use fabric we would not put on our own children, and we will not sell a size we cannot restock. If a piece is gone, it is gone, and the page will say so.
